TAKING STOCK

Every January, the President gives a "State of the Union" speech that is discussed and analyzed at length by pundits, educators, politicians, journalists and a wide variety of commentators all over the world. On the other hand, there are millions of Americans that have concerns about our nation that are never adequately addressed by anybody. A few are listed below:



  • Declining quality of public education resulting from reduced budgets, language barriers, and issues regarding certification and curriculum, etc.

  • Security threats exceeding our ability to track and control hackers, laptop thieves, terrorists, I.D. fraud, etc.

  • Increase in radical political and infrastructure problems resulting from population shift from rural to urban areas.


  • Shift of responsibilities from individuals to government.


  • Petroleum industry manipulations of refining capacity to maximize profits.


  • Rise of obesity which will result in reduced life expectancy and a horrific increase in medical expenditures.


  • Inability of churches to provide effective leadership.


  • Sophisticated advances in smuggling techniques and drug distribution facilities.


  • Massive increase in drug trade and consumption.


  • The tendency of banks to spend millions to encourage consumers to shift from cash to credit purchases.


  • The rise of divisive issues such as abortion, global warming, Christmas, privacy, definition of marriage, etc..................
