THE ULTIMATE LEVEL OF DUPLICITY
- By Vince Johnson
There is a disturbing inconsistency about criticism of our American
military forces in Iraq. Consider two recent comments:
On November 1, 2006 Pulitzer winner Seymour Hersh made this statement in a lecture to students at McGill University in Montreal: "There has never been an American army as violent and murderous as the one in Iraq."
OK. He suggests that our troops in Iraq are the cruelest in our history.
On October 30, 2006 Senator John F. Kerry told students at Pasadena City College: "You study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
OK. He implies that our troops in Iraq are there because they aren't very smart.
