My Leftist Heart...(...In Iran-Francisco)

Quite often a statistic comes along that defines a people and gives you a clearer view of what they are. It also allows one to see similarities that were at one time hidden behind pious rhetoric. This statistic is such a case. I have included the link to the original article below. The claim is that the higher levels are mostly caused by intravenous drug use. If I lived in a theocracy I'd say that too.
Unfortunately I know too many people who have been over there and I've read a few articles or heard about them that explain that statistic much better.
One of the guys in the office had a friend who served in Desert Storm. He had been told to send out a patrol so he got two Arabs and as he was about to send them, he was stopped. He was told to send three or they wouldn't do the patrol. They would find other things to do instead. The poor guy went into overload because he couldn't figure out what this person was driving at. As soon as his CO pranced around him he understood and got an extra person to go with them. The patrol went off just fine because of it.
I know another young man that was blowing in doors in the middle of the night and raiding the insurgents. (Now called 'Freedom Fighters' by our leftist media.) He said the first time he had to do one of those raids it scared the bejeezus out of him because he said, "You just have no idea what they're going to do and so you don't know what to expect." But he got a real surprise. They blew the door and ran into the room yelling for those inside to drop any weapons, but all they could hear was scrambling and Arabic. When the dust settled they saw nothing but naked men trying to find something to put on. It was truly one of those times he wished the night vision goggles weren't so darn good and reliable. He said the first thing out of his mouth was "Dude, what the *Bleep*?!?!" One of his partners said he knew what it was and they all started laughing. I've been told, by more than a few, that this was not uncommon at all. It was almost expected by many after a while. After a while you just get nervous laughter and an "Oh that again."..................
