CSI and Dubai

On March 26, 2005, Dubai, U.A.E. became the 35th member of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Container Security Initiative.
The CSI was developed in response to the 9/11 attacks in order to protect the global trading system and trade lanes between foreign and American ports.
Basically, teams of agents from both CBP and ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) stationed in foreign ports assist the host nation’s customs agents in targeting and screening containers that might possibly be used as a means to deliver a weapon to America’s shores. ..............
