Murder By Dearth (Professor Plum in the Library w/o a Clue)

The Toronto Star had an interesting article on how to spot a conservative baby. It was about a study performed at UC Berkeley regarding how children turned out many years later. It involved a group of about 95 children from the ages of 3 to 4 years old in the 60's. The conclusions were that the whiney children grew up to be conservatives and the bold and curious children grew up to be liberals. It would come as no surprise to the reader that the person who performed this research turned out to be a liberal. What other kind of a conclusion would a liberal come to?
There have been all kinds of studies over the years and quite often the results are as questionable as the people that perform them. The professor who performed this study pointed out that Berkeley certainly doesn't represent the rest of the country. He also said that whiney kids look for the reassurance they get from rigid conservative thinking and liberals are more freethinking and secure. Having read the article I concluded that the professor should have been more cautious about whose sugar cubes he put in his tea or coffee. They may have been laced with something just like some of those boys in that study that grew up to be so secure they came screaming out of the closet.
But I think the study points to something deeper than just that, not that I buy into anything he had to say. I mean really, the kids that were whiners were surrounded by liberals, and they probably got tired of the self-assured bullies that took their milk money from them. They should try doing that study where there are more normal people. I don't blame the kids for being upset all of the time......................
